Over 25 years ago the former director of Denville DPW found a discarded sign that he thought the Ayres/Knuth Farm Foundation could use. Clay Squire restored the deteriorated metal and installed plexiglass doors with magnetic boards inside for listing events. It was an amazing transformation of basically metal scrap. Several members located the spot and installed the heavy sign. Our Howard Squire helped dig and haul this huge piece.
Pollution took its toll on our plexiglass doors and the sun deteriorated our magnetic boards so the curled letters no longer stuck. Changing out calendar events became a challenge with the wasp tenants. It was costly to make posters and signs to tape up and we needed to tell our story.
